Chocolate Bundt Cake with Chocolate Glaze

Chocolate lovers unite! I love chocolate.  I mean, I freaking love chocolate. I have never met anything chocolate I didn't love. This cake fulfills all the chocolate cravings you have. The glaze puts it over the top and fancies it up a bit.  Bundt cakes are so easy too. No layers, no fuss, just a simple yummy cake. 


Ingredients: 

  • 2 sticks butter plus more for the pan

  • 2 1/4 cups AP flour

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (I love dutch)

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste


Glaze: 

  • 3 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter


Directions: 
Cake

  • Preheat the oven to 325. 

  • Butter a large bundt pan.

  • Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. 

  • Mix milk and sour cream in a small bowl- set aside. 

  • With an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy and pale- 4 minutes. 

  • Add eggs 1 at a time, blend after adding. 

  • Add vanilla extract and paste. 

  • On low speed, Add flour mixture, alternate between flour and mix mixture. Start with flour and end with flour. 

  • Pour batter into bundt pan. 

  • Smooth top. 

  • Cook for 55 minutes. 

  • Cool on a wire rack. 


Make Glaze: 

  • Bring the cream to a simmer and remove from heat. 

  • Add the chocolate pieces. 

  • Leave it for about 2-3 minutes, and then mix it. 

  • Add the butter and mix. 

  • Let it stand until slightly thickened.


Drizzle on top of cooled cake.
