Macerating berries is usually done by soaking berries in sugar and alcohol. Here, I soak them in sugar which makes them extra sweet and juicy.
This is for a fairly large batch. I use this for multiple desserts, muffins, and cakes. If you make these berries, you can get a store-bought pound cake and put them on top with some whipped cream.
4 cups of strawberries cut into fours
1/2 cup sugar
In a bowl, place the berries and cover them with sugar
Let sit for about 15 minutes
