I've talked on a couple of recipe posts how my kids and I are allergic to apples. It really stinks because, well, apples are good and they make for good desserts! I have found that using pears in place of apples taste just as great!

Ingredients:
Crust:

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup crushed pecans
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Filling:

  • 4-15oz cans of diced pears (about 4 cups)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Crumble topping:
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup crushed pecans

Directions:

  • Heat oven to 350
  • Spray a 9x9 baking dish with cooking spray
  • Prepare the crust:
    • Mix with a hand or stand mixer
    • Add all the ingredients and mix well
    • Pour into baking pan and press it down evenly
    • Bake for 15-20 minutes
  • Prepare the filling
    • In a medium sauce pan pour all ingredients in and heat to medium-high
    • Cook it down until it is thick
  • Make the topping:
    • Using a stand or hand mixer cream the butter and sugar
    • Add the flour, pecans, salt and mix
  • Pour the pear mixture on top of the cooked crust
  • Pour the crumble and spread evenly on top
  • Cook for 22-25 minutes on 350
  • These taste amazing with ice cream!!
