Cream Cheese Danish

Print Friendly and PDF

We shop at SAMS and Costco for a lot of our groceries, and every time my kids see the danishes displayed they want to get some.
Later, I will try to make my own dough for it, but for now this is the "easy" version to make quickly in the morning! Tip- Make them fresh! This doesn't hold up very well for the next day.

  • 2 cans of crescent rolls
  • 2 tbsp of sugar- to sprinkle on dough
  • 1 8oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1.5 tbsp sugar
  • 1tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp melted butter- to brush on dough after assembled

  • Unroll all the crescent roll
  • Divide into 4 rectangles, as pictured below
  • Pinch the horizontal seams together
  • Cut into long strips about 1-2 inches wide
  • Sprinkle dough with sugar
  • Take two strips and braid them together
  • Roll them so they resemble a basket
  • Press your thumb in the middle
  • Mix cream cheese with sugar, lemon juice and vanilla
  • Place about a tablespoon (or however much you can fit) in the center
  • Melt the 2 tbsp butter and brush on the dough
  • Bake on 350 for about 15 minutes or until golden
