fried soft shell crab

There is a sad truth about me and crabs.
I used to be able to have them all the time.
I’m talking DOZENS every week.
But, y’all… I didn’t want to pick them or crack them. My dad would do it most of the time for me, thank goodness for being a daddy’s girl!
His hobby was crabbing, and I loved going with him. Being on the water and getting to drive the boat was one of my favorite things.
He would get dozens and dozens of crabs every week. I used to love the smell of him boiling them in that spicy mixture and knew that meant later in the week we would have stuffed crabs. That man would pick so much crab meat, usually all by himself! And the crab cakes, and stuffed crabs that came from were amazing.
I will forever miss that!

Ingredients:
8 crabs
8 large eggs
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp Slap Ya Mama
Batter:
4 cups Flour
Slap Ya Mama

Oil for frying

Directions:
In a large boil, mix eggs, heavy cream, and Slap Ya Mama
I like to let the crab sit in there for about 30 minutes

In a separate large bowl place the flour

Heat oil on medium (about 2-3 inches, enough to fry the crab)
Take each crab, one at a time, gently toss it around in the flour to coat it
Depending on the size of your pot, fry one at a time or more, just as long as they have enough room
When they are golden, remove them and put on the paper towel lined cookie sheet
Sprinkle with Slap Ya Mama on top
