What can I say? Sometimes you just want a good ole country style dinner.
I love this dinner because it just reminds me of home. If you go to a home-style restaurant or a buffet here, you will find this on the menu. It's just one of those meals that brings us Southerners comfort. Make some rice. Serve it with a green side, and don't forget the rolls!

Ingredients:

  • 5-6 cube steaks
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tbsp slap ya mama
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup sliced green bell pepper
  • 1 cup sliced onion
  • 3 tsp slap ya mama
  • 32 oz beef broth

Directions:

  • Place oil in the bottom of a frying skillet
  • Heat to medium-high
  • Place flour and slap ya mama in a bowl
  • Batter each side of the cube steak
  • Fry until golden on each side
  • Remove from pan and set aside while you make sauce
  • If there is too much oil, remove some from the pan and keep about 1/4-1/2 cup of oil
  • Add flour and stir around and brown it
  • Add onions and bell peppers
  • Cook down until soft and add slap ya mama seasoning
  • Add beef broth and mix well
  • Add more broth if needed
