Hamburger Steak

Ingredients for patties:

  • 2lb ground beef

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4cup Italian bread crumbs

  • 1tsp salt

  • 1/2tsp pepper

  • 1tsp onion powder

  • 1tsp garlic powder

  • 2tsp worcestershire sauce

  • 2tbsp oil, or more as needed


  • Mix all ingredients in a large bowl

  • Form patties

  • Heat up pan you will fry the patties in, medium

  • Fry patties, keep on medium heat, it will take longer but it is important to not burn the bottom of your pan so when you make your gravy it will taste good!




  • 1 large onion, diced fine

  • 1/2 stick butter

  • 4tbsp flour

  • 5cups of water

  • 2 cup sliced mushrooms

  • 7 Beef bouillon cubes


  • After you fry your patties, put the butter in the pan and melt it around

  • Place in the onions, and mix around. This will help get all the browned bits off the bottom of the pan

  • Sprinkle in the flour

  • Mix around with the onions until combined

  • Place bouillon cubes in water and mix, pour in the pan

  • Mix it up and break apart the cubes

  • Place the mushrooms in the pan

  • The gravy will start to thicken, if it gets too thick put more water. Taste for salt because the bouillon cubes are salty, so you may have to add more water (just mix in a little flour so it will stay thick).

  • When the gravy thickens up, place your hamburger patties back in the pan
