Broccoli Gruyere Casserole

This is a different way to make broccoli, and you'll be happy for the change up! The gruyere goes so nicely with the broccoli. It's a pleasant surprise. 


  • 2lbs frozen broccoli florets 
  • 1 stick of butter 
  • 1/2 cup flour 
  • 4 cups whole milk 
  • 16oz Gruyere cheese 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 


  • Boil broccoli florets in salted water 
  • Drain 
  • Add 1 stick of butter to your pan 
  • Add flour and cook for 2 minutes, keep stirring it 
  • Whisk in milk and simmer until thickened, about 4 minutes
  • Remove from heat and add in cheese 
  • Add salt and pepper
  • Taste and adjust seasonings
